After working through full 8-hour labs, this was a nice change. My plan was to finish 3 Vol 3 labs but I ended up doing only 1. I think this is rated at level 2 since I was able to finish this in 2 hours and 15min. IE wants you to finish the lab in 3 hours.

So after working my way through this lab for 2 days, I am finally done. One word of advice for you, never try to finish these labs in more than a day. This has happened to me over and over again where I will finish everything upto IGP in one day and then start BGP onwards the day after. You are playing catch-up trying to remember what you did in the earlier part of the lab.

OSPF On-demand Circuits
OSPF on-demand configuration was designed for efficient operation over on-demand circuits like ISDN, X.25 switched virtual circuits (SVCs), and dialup lines. Since these are billed on usage basis, you don’t want your OSPF protocol to keep these circuits up 24-7. This feature allows OSPF to suppress periodic hellos and the periodic refreshes of LSAs are not flooded over the demand circuit.

So you have configured port-security on one of your ports and we all know that by default if the violation occurs, the port will be put in shutdown-errdisable mode. One way to get the port back up is to do a manual shut-noshut on it. In today’s world, this might become an administrative nightmare.
