The demand for expert-level professionals proficient in the ability to design, install, deploy, and troubleshoot complex converged networks is growing exponentially.
In an effort to meet this demand, Cisco is introducing the CCIE Wireless certification. The Cisco CCIE Wireless certification assesses and validates wireless expertise. Candidates who pass the CCIE Wireless certification exams demonstrate broad theoretical knowledge of wireless networking and a solid understanding of wireless local area networking (WLAN) technologies from Cisco.
There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE Wireless certification. Instead, candidates must first pass a written qualification exam and then the corresponding hands-on lab exam. You are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the topics in the exam blueprints and strongly encouraged to have three to five years of job experience before attempting certification. You can review the exam preparation materials included on this page for more information.
The written exam for CCIE Wireless will be made available through Pearson VUE on February 17th, 2009. The lab exam for CCIE Wireless will be made available in April 2009.
