Starting CCIE Voice

From my last CCIE attempt, it was clear that the lab itself was a piece of cake for me and I was caught offguard by Open Ended Questions. So now that I followed the outline I created for myself and read through all the CCIE Written material, I was in for another surprise.

I logged in to schedule my next CCIE R&S lab attempt to find out that all the dates were taken and the only dates available were after Oct 18th 2009. You would ask why is that? Well all these people are trying to hurry up and pass the lab so they don’t have to deal with MPLS.

To me that’s a non issue. I wanted to pass the R&S lab and move on to my other dream that is CCIE Voice.

Well at this point its not worth the four month wait that I see for R&S so I have decided to start CCIE Voice Written Prep. I will however keep looking for the R&S Seats @ RTP and if I find something on a day’s notice, I will drive and attempt my R&S lab. If not then I can always come back to it by studying more MPLS and dealing with more troubleshooting.

So as of now I am starting the prep for CCIE Voice Written. I have ordered the CCBootcamp Voice Written Guide as it came highly recommended and then I will use the DOCCD to fill in the gaps.

I will try to post more about this journey than what I did during my R&S 2nd Attempt :)

That’s all for right now.
