So I have been going back and forth on building my own home lab to test latest features of Cisco UC and VMware in general. I ended up selling my great CCIE Voice lab last year because I didn’t think that was something good enough for the latest releases of Cisco Communications Manager.
I could easily build one at work but I think spending your own $$ is the way to go if you really want to learn so I am out there shopping for the best server. So the question I have for everyone or a couple of you who read my blog, What will be the best server to run ESXi so I can install CUCM 8.5, CUC 8.5, UCCX, CUPS, MeetingPlace and the whole suite of 8.x product line.
Currently I am running CUCM and CUC 8.5 on my MacBook Pro and it is fine but not perfect for solid testing.
