Changing the Domain Name on the Cisco Unified Presence is not as straight forward as it looks. I get this question asked all the time by customers:
I logged into the Cluster-Wide Topology Settings under System > Cluster Topology and I am trying to change the Domain Name from PROXY.DOMAIN.NOT.SET but it won’t let me type

That is correct, you can’t just change it without reading the fine print which makes it very clear.
Cisco UP Presence Engine, Cisco UP Proxy and Cisco UP XCP Router services must be stopped on all nodes in the cluster before the Domain Name can be modified.
Now the next question is where the heck are these Services. Let’s Navigate to Cisco Unified Serviceability Page.
Cisco UP Presence Engine and Cisco UP Proxy are located under Tools > Service Activation

Cisco UP XCP Router is located under Tools > Control Center – Network Services

Now that you have stopped the services, Let’s Navigate back to the Cisco Unified Presence Administration Page. Go to System > Cluster Topology > Settings and boom you are able to type in the NEW Domain Name!

Once you have the new name in, just hit the save button and then go back and start the services back up. There you go – Now you know how to change the domain name of the Cisco Unified Presence Server! This should apply to Cisco Unified Presence Server 8.6 as well.
Good luck!
