Internetwork Expert Volume II: Lab 2

I just finished Lab 2 from the IEWB Vol 2. I know I was supposed to finish this last week but things came up and had to travel over the weekend. This lab has a difficulty rating of 6 so it is harder than vol 1 which was rated at 5. As always the wording is there to confuse you so you have to read it 2-3 times to make sense out of some of the questions. Read more

Internetwork Expert Volume II: Lab 1 Tasks 3 through 10

Finally I was able to finish Lab 1 from IEWB Volume 2. I am not sure how everyone else did this first lab but I was able to stumble my way upto BGP. After that I checked my answers with the solution guide on task by task basis. I know that’s not how you are suppose to do these but since this was my first attempt on an 8-hour long lab, i thought why not.

Internetwork Expert Volume II: Lab 1 Task 2

Task 2 was frame-relay configs and this was a breeze. Then again this is Lab 1 (Level 5) so it can’t be that hard. Throughout this task, I had Narbik’s words yelling in my ears “Don’t use BROADCAST keyword unless its necessary”. So I did the sub-tasks without broadcast keywords. I will move on to Task 3 tomorrow which is related to IGP and then come back to this config and enable broadcast if necessary.

I went ahead and redid my rack according to IE’s topology. My plan was to finish Vol 2 Lab 1 but didn’t even get close to finishing it. I just finished section 1: Bridging & Switching and that took me 2 hours! You guys are probably thinking “WTF is wrong with this guy?”. Well I took my sweet @$$ time while I was working through it. Good news is that as soon as I read the question I was like “Man I know what they are asking”. But once I finished the sub-task, I went and looked at the solution and then researched DOCCD.
